Pranksy is an NFT collector and influencer.In January 2021 he appeared on Fox 5 New York's evening news during a segment on NBA Topshot, at a moment when NFTs were gaining mainstream attention.He later created NFTBoxes, a project of his own to which he invited artists including Hackatao to contribute pieces.
In 2021 Pranksy's Place, a venue in Decentraland, hosted the SearchLight-curated exhibition “Mask Ephemera”, featuring work by Rebecca Rose and Joyce Korotkin.,That August, he drew attention to an OpenSea listing purportedly by the street artist Banksy and entered a bid of 100 wrapped ETH, worth about $336,026, before its authenticity could be confirmed.
In 2022 he invited the artist duo Hackatao to create three animated pieces for NFTBoxes, used as seals signifying rarity.He was included in the NFT100 list in both 2022 and 2023, in the community category rather than the creator category.,,By 2025 his @pranksy account had drawn more than 438,000 followers on X, where he posted about NFT trading and sports-related NFTs and had a partnership with the fantasy sports platform Sorare.That year the artist Bryan Brinkman included The Collector, a piece made in collaboration with Pranksy's project NFTBoxes, in his series Archetypes of the Metaverse.
