Description

World Capital of Imaginary Places is an ongoing series that explores how the unique geographical and meteorological properties of Los Angeles have influenced the visual language of cinema, and subsequently how the city has imprinted itself into the collective subconscious of culture and the language of contemporary media.

Los Angeles is ever changing visual poetry, as sunlight shines through layers of cloud, fog and pollution to cast itself onto pavement, sand, hillsides and skyscrapers. The skyline shimmers with light reflected off steel and glass, as its contours are burned into our minds. The freeways pulse with congestion, as traffic patterns ebb and flow. Los Angeles is very much alive, a teeming cybernetic collective, living, moving, and dreaming all as one.

Los Angeles is the World Capital of Imaginary Places.
