Description
The Temple of Artemis was a temple dedicated to the greek goddess of the hunt Artemis and was located in Ephesus. It had a turbulent lifespan as it was rebuilt 3 times and each version was more grandiose than the previous. The final version was built by the Ephesians and was 450 feet long,225 feet wide, and 60 feet high with over 100 columns to support it. It was documented to be destroyed by 400 AD. Many have claims for its destruction by historians haven't agreed upon the true reason for its demise.
This temple was known as one of the 7 ancient wonders of the world.
