Description
This sculpture was made in 1937, Berlin.
It's a place national remembrance dedicated to the victims of war and tyranny.
Kathe Kollwitz created this in homage to her son who died in World War I.
She never got over his death & dedicated her career as a graphic artist and sculptor to works opposing governmental oppression.
Though she may feel crushed, a mother's strength is insurmountable.
