Can you feel it? You hair beginning to stand up, the smell of singed air, the sound of crackling thunder. Congrats, you're in Kansas. The land where storms are king and displays of power and majesty are on display every summer. This is power, this is majesty.
On May 8th, 2021 near the town of Salina, Kansas a supercell thunderstorm rotated its way towards the city igniting the air with bolts of lightning every 1/4 of a second. Nearly constant bolts. Taken as a single 30 second long exposure shot, several bolts were captured. Clouds ripping northward to the right side of the image as extremely strong wind above the ground fueled this storm. I sat in long silence as bolts filled the air. Even Nikola Tesla would have been impressed.
