A burned trash can rests against a wall in a yard at Paul-Lincke-Ufer, Berlin
In this series, Raphaël de Courville explores the idea of the city as a living organism and presents garbage as a representation of climate anxiety manifested through the prism of detritus and urban decay. By rendering the garbage in a digital format, the artist questions the value we place on material objects and positions them as potential threats to our environment. The idea of the sculpture garden is here subverted; the trash is present not as a hidden part of the city, but as landmarks in themselves.
