The Helianthus Annuus or sunflower follows the path of the sun, but when it stops growing it remains facing east.
It is a symbol of platonic love. It represents the goddess Clitia in love and rejected by Helios: the sun in Greek mythology.
A flower, burned by the sun, needs to recover with fresh water.
