No surprise that when darkness comes, it comes without warning. One moment everything is fine, and then the thoughts shatter my mind, my self-confidence, my very sense of self. All of it - electrified and charred, blown away in a black cloud of misery.

Quite suddenly, I am trash. I am not worthy. I am nothing. I have a heart that’s full up like a landfill. A job that slowly kills me. Bruises that won’t heal. “But you have such a pretty house, and such a pretty garden,” they say. But the flowers no longer bloom. All there is - is darkness filled with a narcotic calm and no surprises.
