Description

A dungeon drawn from simulated PlayStation 1 video memory, corrupting itself as it renders. Palette rotations, index shifts and page surgery operate on real VRAM structure — 4-bit indexed texture pages, 16-entry CLUT rows — so every mutation breaks something that means something. Floor plan, textures, palettes, corruption sequence and soundtrack all derive from this token's hash.

The piece models a real PS1 VRAM layout: a 1024×512 buffer of BGR555 words, divided into 4-bit indexed texture pages with 16-entry CLUT rows. Corruption operates on that structure. A palette rotation leaves geometry intact and floods the world with new colour. An index shift preserves detail but moves tone somewhere else. Page surgery makes one surface wear another's skin. Twenty-one operations, each producing a distinct kind of damage — because the memory means something.
