This slideshow made with the front and back views of my Moon goddess sculpture with the sea and the full Moon in the background, represents the 3 aspects of the Goddess.

Since women have always been connected to the cycles of the Moon in many ancient cultures, I wanted to express this connection by depicting a nude woman lying on a rock in a sensual pose and receiving the light and the power of the full Moon through a surrounding mist. Both the woman and the rock are shaped like the Waxing Moon seen from the front and the Waning Moon seen from behind. Waxing and Waning phases symbolize the maiden and crone goddesses whereas the full Moon, which remains always visible in the picture, is a symbol of the mother goddess. Therefore, the 3 Moon phases are the 3 main stages of a woman's life : maiden, mother and crone.

Moon goddess is my original handmade terracotta sculpture which was featured in my 2nd group art exhibition at a prestigious fine arts institution in Barcelona (Spain).
