Around 940 species of sea urchin live on the seafloor, populating every ocean and every depth zone. Depending on species, they can grow up to 36cm, with round, hard spiny shells being both beautiful and a formidable defence against predators. Sea urchins move slowly, crawling with tube feet and propelling themselves using their spines - you should have no problem catching a few if you're quick enough.
