As the march reached the White House, the group separated into those engaging in civil disobedience at the fence in front of the House and those holding space from a safe distance in the park. All generations of women were present and when I see an older generation in protest, I can’t help be think of how many years these women have been fighting to have their rights protected. And then my heart breaks because now we’re so much farther behind in our fight. It shouldn’t be this way…but here we stand. Defiant. Still.
