A timid smoke rises from the ashtray, just a trace of what had been hours before, powerful smoke drifting through the room. A memory of the lighted flames illuminating the faces that were there, coming from many mouths, amid laughter, sips, drags, and lipsticks. Red, purple, orange, pink, beige... an ashtray of many palettes, an ashtray of many mouths. The smoke goes out and, like the fog that dissipates in the early hours of the day clearing the horizon, I realize: Sophie, Chloe, Lena, Zoe and Kylie... which of these mouths also took my heart?
