The egg as a symbol of fragility.

The Archive of the Soft Bodied series is a collection of shells, remnants, fragile organic materials derived from animals. By adding materiality that is contrary in nature to the organic form, a transformative act is created. A feminist counter-power can be found in this transformation. It does not overlook bodies of this kind, but gives them special attention and strength. Strength arises from tenderness.

This work is based on a still life from the Archive of the Soft Bodied series. Needles and beads are added to a found, broken eggshell. Through the process of video generation by AI, a visualization of a virtual, liquid layer is created, which covers the broken part of the egg and then hardens. It blends into the materiality of the original egg. The egg almost seems to heal itself.
