On June 30, 1926, an iron bridge with an effective width of 5.5 meters and a length of 438 meters was built. It was called the "Shimanto River Bridge" or the "Red Iron Bridge". At the time, the annual budget of Nakamura Town (later Nakamura City) was about 90,000 yen. This bridge was completed at a total cost of 500,000 yen, five to six times that amount. This bridge is the second generation(The current red iron bridge is a steel truss bridge with a total length of about 508 meters), having been restored after it was destroyed by the Nankai earthquake on February 21, 1946. However, it is still a landmark of Shimanto City (formerly Nakamura City) in Kochi Prefecture, Japan.

A portion of the proceeds from this collection will be donated to the Shimanto River Foundation's Shimanto River Fund, which aims to preserve the clear waters of the Shimanto River.
