The Seventh Circle
"Now I would have you know: the other time / that I descended into lower Hell, / this mass of boulders had not yet collapsed."
The canvas is split into between 64 and 256 areas. Each area is separated from its neighbours by a border of between 1.5% and 4.5% of the canvas.
Each area is further subdivided into between 64 and 100 smaller squares. These are separated by a proportionally-smaller border.
A time-based function affects the hue of each square, mapping the sin and cosine of each squares position, offset by an amount determined from the initial hash. Over time, the colour of the squares will change, dependent on further initial values.
Occasionally, sections of each grid will break away, rendering at an angle to the main piece. Within this, individual squares may be rotated slightly.
The overlaid texture may be dark or bright, horizontally or vertically. The texture size may vary according to the initial conditions.
Most importantly, with the fullness of time, all pieces have a chance of returning to wholeness; they are all a part of a cycle of life, that each one may know its place.
