"The Portals - KINESIS - Grassland, 4.5.22" is a 15-second video segment documenting an installation of The Portals sculpture in California on April 5, 2022. In this piece, the Portal remains constant while the surrounding environment transforms.

The Portals, an ongoing series by artist Blakeney Sanford, is an invitation to explore our internal and external transformation at both the micro and macro scale. The vivid blue environmental installations encourage us to consider our presence in a specific place at a specific moment in time while simultaneously considering the expansive patterns, timelines, and possibilities that exist beyond. The series includes 2-D photography, 3-D installation sculpture, multidimensional NFTs, and conceptual gridwork. Through these mediums, the work creates a web of connection between the individual, the collective, the natural world, and the metaphysical beyond.
