Description

On our third day for Aurora hunt, we drove far from the main city of Rovaniemi, Finland to a river bed and waited patiently for hours. There was clearly no sign of the Northern lights as predicted by the apps. It was a cold night with occasional winds making it difficult to withstand the freezing temperatures.

Initially we expected the Auroras to come from the Northern Skies but to our surprise they appeared from the Southern skies and lasted for a very brief moment. The 'Crown' or 'Corona' as they call it was clearly visible with the naked eye and left us awestruck with the colours all around.

It was truly a spectacular sight to witness them with such strong visibility and force. My tripod dis balanced a couple of times due to the strong winds but I'm grateful to watch and capture a couple of shots of the phenomenon which many call once in a lifetime experience.
