As the world grows more industrialized and people drift farther from nature, some Indigenous tribes still see themselves as part of it, not its owners. This artwork draws inspiration from a belief held by one such community: that every person is spiritually connected to a tree from the moment of birth, and whatever befalls that tree affects the individual as well. In a world increasingly dominated by metal and machinery, what becomes of the human spirit?
