I’ve always been extroverted. I love meeting and being around people, and speaking in front of groups has never really been an issue. But crowds? Crowds are a completely different story.
In crowds, everything sort of blends together, all the voices become one and the movement of individuals gets blurred. My brain automatically tries to pull these things back apart, tries to make sense of the individual voices, the individual movements, but it fails. It’s complete overload, and all I can really do is let the pieces melt back together. Let the many become one, unintelligible mass.
“The Feeling of Crowds” is an attempt to represent this feeling visually.
