The Aurora Borealis, or Northern Lights, is one of the most beautiful natural phenomena on Earth, visible in the polar regions of the Northern Hemisphere. This phenomenon occurs when charged particles from the sun collide with Earth's magnetic field and enter the upper layers of the atmosphere. These collisions cause light to be emitted in the night sky, appearing as curtains of green, pink, purple, or red light.
