I've been lucky enough to get out to Yosemite quite a few times right after a big snow storm has passed through. The conditions are constantly changing, so you have to be ready shoot all the time.
One of my favorite things about Yosemite is when the valley fills with heavy fog, and the iconic rock walls come in & out of visibility.
During this specific visit, I was shooting a composition of a very tall tree, its branches covered in fresh snow, with El Capitan in the background. As I was shooting, a bird came and landed right on top of the tree. It was absolutely unreal, I couldn't believe I'd gotten so lucky.
The rest of the day was spent be extra careful to not ruin my SD card, because I knew I had captured something special.
