Man is an absurd, unbearable creature who passionately desires to have the highest possible price set for his merits, so that he in turn will refuse it, secretly hoping to receive a double offer, which he will also refuse, because there is no limit to his vanity.
Life itself made us like this, billions of years of evolution have honed the skills of absorbing their own kind for the sake of their own metabolism, which ultimately spilled over into the immaterial world of ideas. Even Jesus Christ carried his cross with a sense of duty fulfilled before himself and humanity, as well as complete confidence that, leaving the material world under such unusual circumstances, he will remain immortal for many years to come, and his ideas will conquer more and more new generations of people. And no matter how blasphemous this comparison may seem, in the spiritual world we also observe the same absorption that occurs in living nature. Some bacteria eat other bacteria, an anteater licks ants, a wolf catches a hare. In the same way, writers capture the minds of readers, film directors - the attention of moviegoers, bloggers - the time of social network users, and so on.
There is no limit to egoism.
What can we say about politics, when it combines both the material and the spiritual, when money seizes power and information resources, and with their help even more money is earned. This is truly a huge field for the realization of the predatory nature of man! And there are no limits and restrictions in this area, except for death. Only death stops and slightly redirects the vector of personal egoism. We can say that defeat in the elections is also a small death, that the system of checks and balances that exists in some countries somewhat improves the unfavorable prognosis for the development of society, accelerates our evolution, but we do not know how independent the presidential candidates are, how honestly the struggle is. And in any case, the capitalist system will promote the concentration of resources and power in power centers that will unite with each other and fight with other power centers for ever greater influence. And society will be a passive observer or, even worse, suffer losses and lag behind in development.
And what have we come to in 2025?
The fate of two nations - millions of people - depends on whether two people corrupted by power kiss or not, whether this kiss will be French (with or without tongue). And perhaps the fate of the whole world depends on this event. Two nuclear powers are pitted against each other. And it is clear that this is a screen, an external manifestation of the internal struggle of capitals with each other, and they would hardly want to dig in for many years in their, albeit very comfortable, bunkers for the years of nuclear winter. But the question is different, is it advisable to allow such risks at all? Does a society that has experienced so many difficult events in its history, such as world wars, pandemics, bloody revolutions, natural disasters and still survived, reaching 8 billion and unprecedented prosperity in history, have the right to trust its fate to a random event - a meeting of two elderly people with a dubious reputation?
This is nothing more than the radiation of power. Power is dangerous by its nature, and if it concerns such a huge and complex structure as human society as a whole, then power in its archaic manifestation is now simply impossible due to security concerns. Capitalism, although it gave us an extraordinary leap in development, having reached its peak, is simply impossible further. It is not typical for modern society, leads to overproduction, wars, environmental degradation and generally ruins the life of every person working for the good of society. We cannot continue to allow the power and prosperity of a small group of parasites to the detriment of our future.
Modern technologies, which have been developing at a particularly fast pace in recent years, should give us some kind of independent system of accounting, control and distribution, which will replace the current government. The main beneficiary in this system should be society as a whole organism, and not its individual elements, now called the elite.
Otherwise, the history of humanity may end earlier than we would all like.
