Tezos core devs kept incorporating new languages to the chain, allowing always more devs arround the world to enjoy the benefits of Tezos.

This allows a growing interoperability while onboarding more builders & projects on the chain.

While Tezos L1 isn't EVM compatible until today, this is about to change with Etherlink. Etherlink is an EVM compatible enshrined rollup that will allow any dapp from Ethereum ecosystem to enjoy Tezos benefits.
