I have been working on the use of Unicode in computers and the visual possibilities of text glyphs without a symbolic economy: the text as a visual code. The text is visual, reading is a mental operation of translating abstract symbols into possible sounds that refer us to the words of specific languages. With these visual unicode experiments, I throw away the particular apparatus of meanings of each language to keep the sign that refers us to our own way of understanding it and giving it meaning. Significant without meaning. Abstraction of abstractions.

System is a visual experiment made up of typographic glyphs and html forms. It is composed of three mechanisms: one that generate the landscape in the circle, other the squeres, and then the textual symbols: the main glyphs come from the sections of Unicode corresponding to Anatolian Hieroglyphs, The Disc of Phaistos, Linear B, Egyptian Hieroglyphs and Mayan Hieroglyphs. The other glyphs come from Kangxi radicals, CJK Symbols and Punctuation, Bopomofo, CJK Strokes, Katakana phonetic extensions, Phoenician alphabet, Musical Symbols, Glagolitic Script, Nabataean alphabet, Palmyrene alphabet, Avestan alphabet, Bamum supplement, Pahlavi scripts, CJK compatibility and Tangsa.
