This piece is part of a small series of japanese-themed compositions generated algorithmically in the context of the #tezosjaponica online event.

It is inspired both by traditional japanese painting style Sumi-e, graffiti and manga, iconic triad of a culture harmoniously mixing ancient tradition, craftsmanship, high-technology and future vision.

The main elements in the composition are the red sun, identity of the Japan flag, and the 日 character representing the Sun. These two elements are deconstructed and recomposed iteratively using slicing, layering and graph-based techniques to symbolize, at once, simplicty and complexity.
