This is an original Op Art piece that incorporates an algorithm for drawing alternating black and white concentric squares inside a space defined by of another algorithm that divides the picture space in half (alternatively vertically or horizontally) on consecutive iterations. A coin-toss algorithm decides which half to fill with concentric squares and the other half is further divided in half again. The subdivision process iterates until the half space is too small to draw squares in.
