As a kid, I didn't like mirrors. It wasn't a hate/phobia thing just a distrust in mirrors. Mirrors, not limited to those on the wall, but mirror finishing on anything, just felt alien to me. As an adult, my relationship with mirrors took a deeper dive. The place where one has to face oneself... What an odd place to be physically, but mentally most notably. Looking into a mirror now while I'm typing this to add dramatic effect, has me thinking about the person I am. The person I was, the person I am, the person I want to be - they're all there in front of me, and only I truly know each one of them. Sometimes the one acts like the other. If self-love is a spectrum between naught and narcissism, I'm the one walking away from the mirror.
