Great Buddha of Kamakura - Street Photography from Japan. In this photo, man is portrayed as a small entity in comparison with the greater powers at work: nature, energy, and the universe. The little man seems to be dancing in front of his God, which in reality is just a reflection of what he does not fully understand.

I took this image keeping in mind some important compositional elements:

• the small man is in direct contrast with the large reflection of the Buddha... this is done intentionally to balance it out.
• the part of the Buddha at the top is the one missing in the reflection (the opposite is also true).
• The leading lines of the pavement have been used to direct the viewer's attention to the "real" main subject... the little man.
