August 19th, 2021, was an incredibly special day not just for epic storms, but because it was also my 30th birthday!

On this day I was chasing with my fellow chase partner Justin Snead (@DreadlockTvlr) in Northeastern Colorado and far Southwest Nebraska. Storms launched off the Colorado Front Range around 1pm local time and from that moment on it was game time.

It took a few hours for storms to move East into the better parameters so during that timeframe, myself and Justin set up our camera in a few different locations to capture lightning. As the day turned to evening, we noticed our storm was beginning to rapidly intensify. We quickly repositioned in Lamar, NE and from that moment on we were in complete shock and disbelief of what we were observing. Before our eyes was a career type storm structure/supercell. It was huge, colorful, well sculpted, and was actively producing a tornado. My birthday wish came true! We were completely mesmerized by what we were seeing. Talk about epic
