This 180° panoramic photograph takes you to the very short eruption at Meradalir Volcano in August 2022. This capture has been done with a 70mm lens from the ground and not from a drone as most of the images taken during volcanic eruptions.
I will never forget the feeling of the heat on my face, despite the long distance from the crater, the loud noise produced by the magma boiling and exploding, as strong as waves crashing against rocky cliffs in the ocean, or the crispy sound of the lava streams moving on the dried one. This is a once in a lifetime experience that I will be grateful for forever.
This image is also rare, as the eruption has lasted only for a short period of two weeks, and that the volcano can start erupting again in 10 days as in 100 years.
