Description

This is the initial phase of the eclipse, where the moon starts to move in front of the sun, gradually covering a portion of it. Observers in the path of the eclipse will see the sun's disk being progressively obscured. Totality: This is the most dramatic phase of a total solar eclipse. It occurs when the moon completely covers the sun's disk, casting a shadow on the Earth and creating a brief period of darkness. During totality, the sun's corona becomes visible, along with any nearby planets and bright stars. Partial Eclipse (Post-Totality): After totality, the moon moves away from in front of the sun, gradually revealing more of the sun's disk. This marks the final phase of the eclipse as it transitions back to a partial eclipse before the moon completely moves away.
