As part of a larger body of work dubbed "Soul Sounds: The Symphonic Convergence of Man & Music", Reign Down on Me explores the unique, archival perspective of a regal, musical figurine and his symbiotic relationship with his instrument of choice, the Axatse. With origins in West Africa, this image provides a larger view of a maestro succumbing to the power of the sound brought about by his axatse and how it in turn, dictates his movement and fluidity, so as to put this instrument on the pedestal that is, his life. We see a somewhat hierarchical representation of what it means to be led by the music, hence the instrument reigning over his life.
