I cannot easily accept the results that I’ve drawn from my current situation, which has lasted for almost a year. My condition is far more serious than that. I don’t even know if I can say this is a new situation or not, but my honest belief is that it is. I’ve experienced similar situations before, but none quite like this one. It feels as though I’m made of stone, as though I am the stone of my own grave. There’s no opening for doubt or certainty, for love or hate, for courage or bravery, either specifically or generally. All that remains is a faint hope that persists, but it’s no better than the writings carved onto gravestones.
