This self-portrait is inspired by Caravaggio's painting, Narcissus, and a divination practice in which women stand in front of a mirror, while holding a candle at midnight and in this way, they would see the face of their true love reflected.

This happened to me due to the loss of a group of friends that I appreciated and turned out to be my greatest enemies. I felt alone and excluded from love. One day looking in the mirror I said to myself, "I love you Isa, you do not need the love and approval of anyone other than the one I give to you."
