Sculpture Field
Through the creation of small aluminium minimal sculptures cut, folded and painted by hand, a series of dynamics are established seeking to generate an environment with the characteristics of a portable sculpture field with qualities of adaptation and variability.
Expanding and bending the limits between digital and physical and experimenting with the concept of Generative Art, a set of rules is determined for these objects to generate compositions, emulating the generative process in a physical context. Starting from their hand made production, these small sculptures made out of leftover aluminium may have from 1 up to 4 folds from the original random shape, and are then hand painted in two different colors each piece. These minimal sculptures are randomly tossed in the physical space several times. Each arrangement is registered in digital painting as an individual piece, placing them in a white background as a way of rendering a neutral context to the objects, adding to the notion of a sculpture field which scale could change through perception.
Series of 20 1/1 digital paintings. 5000 x 6500 px.
