Samsara Series by Andy Yang Digital Paintings

Growing up as a child in a religiously confused family. I observed how my parents would believe in any faith with the hopes of keeping the family safe from harm and misfortune. Later, we eventually settled in as Catholics after a near-death experience with one of my siblings. One of the many faiths adopted by my family that had the most impression on me was Tibetan Buddhism. The term Samsara kept coming back to me from time to time. In ancient Sanskrit, which meant “flowing around.” The central conception of reincarnation. The idea of the soul striving to release itself from the shackles of its own karma in the “sea of samsara” intrigued me and piqued my imagination, even to this very day. Hence, I decided to pursue it and interpret it visually in my own language in this series of artworks.
