In 2015, my husband and I got into birding. We spent two years traveling to different National Parks to look for and photograph rare birds. For our second wedding anniversary, my husband surprised me by booking a trip to Machias Seal Island in Maine to see the Atlantic Puffins who nest there in the summer.

We drove 8 hours up the coast of New England to Machias, Maine. We then got up at sunrise to catch a two-hour boat ride to the island. Once there, we were rewarded with hundreds of cute and curious puffins who were happy to pose for my camera.
