Portraits I by jiwa is a first edition collection of 64 code & handmade portraits, each acting as a complete generative algorithm. Every refresh creates a new artwork. The owner can lock the portrait, setting a certain output in perpetuity. Owners can anonymize (pixelate) their portrait and control the usage of their portrait photo, providing the owner with continued power over their likeness over time. Every portrait is animated, responsive, & gradually develops. 

Portraits are made with javascript & drawings made in custom software, living fully on chain.

Portraits are best viewed on a laptop/desktop computer with retina display.

To save an image, press “s”.

To reload for a new output in any window, press “r”.

To enter infinite mode, append “?r=“ to the URL, followed by the number of seconds to wait before auto-refreshing for a new artwork. Infinite mode refreshes the page every X seconds to display new outputs every so often.

To lock a portrait, when viewing the portrait, press “i” to view the hash (0x…). Copy that hash into “Lock Portrait” field in the Customize your Artwork screen on Art Blocks, and submit. To re-open the full algorithm, submit "0" into the "Lock Portrait" field.

To pixelate (or anonymize), update the Pixelate value field in the Customize your Artwork screen on Art Blocks.

For those who opted-in on the photo being included, you can update the Use Photo toggle in the Customize your Artwork screen on Art Blocks. The first time you turn Use Photo off, you will need to set the toggle twice.
