In the Process of GrowthThis piece is related to the illustration "Girl with a Koinobori Tattoo" that I drew on May 5th, 2022. At that time, she refused to grow up and had the koinobori, a symbol of Children's Day in Japan, tattooed on her body as a way of rejecting adulthood. However, through various experiences, she eventually accepted the idea of growing up and made a decision to do so. This illustration depicts her in the process of growth, where the koinobori tattoo on her back, which she had gotten as an escape from reality, has transformed into a symbol of "growth" embodied by a carp. This carp will eventually transform into a dragon, and that is when she will truly become an adult.
