The noble slenderness of the cross-rim on domestic insects is a lost art. It began in Victorian times as an attempt to publicly demonstrate the high qualities of female horsemen for the training and exhibition of the new insectoid races that were beginning to be imported from the depths of the Amazon. The new crossover trend kickstarted a whole wardrobe craze that allowed us to stay glamorous amidst hectic functions. Few stories are preserved in our times of such avant-garde women.
