Ferns are vascular plants that reproduce asexually via spores and lack both seeds and flowers. They differ from mosses and other bryophytes by being vascular, i.e., having specialized tissues that conduct water and nutrients, and by having life cycles dominated by the branching sporophyte. The leaves of ferns, known as megaphylls, are more complex than the microphylls of clubmosses. The majority of ferns are leptosporangiate. They create fiddleheads that unwind and grow into fronds. There are approximately 10,560 recognized species in this category. Ferns are defined here in a broad sense to include all Polypodiopsida, which includes both leptosporangiate and eusporangiate ferns, with the latter category encompassing horsetails, whisk ferns, marattioid ferns, and ophioglossoid ferns.

Licence With the purchase of this NFT, the artist grants the primary holder the licence to sell, trade, or transfer the NFT on the blockchain.
