This piece represents a study of color field works by Mark Rothko. The background and field colors used are actual colors that Rothko used in his paintings. A lot of variability exists, based on how Rothko's paintings actually varied: relative sizes of the fields, distances between fields, field widths, amount of fields and manner of painting (thick or light). Painting artifacts are visible when the fields connect or when the background color interacts with the field colors.

The Fields feature describes the amount of color fields: one large field is very rare.
