Description

Black and white image of Mientuš. From a human mother shaman and a stag father, the most beautiful animal of the North, was born Mändash, a beloved deity of the Lapps: a snow-white-silver, black-headed deer with golden antlers. His eyes are always half-closed, their fire is so bright that a man can go blind. The beginning and the end of life on earth are connected with him. A Sámi legend tells of two gods in an eternal struggle between them, the great thunder god Tjermes chasing the Reindeer. When the first arrow strikes Myandash, all the rivers will flow back, the mountains will catch fire and the sea will run dry. When the second arrow plunges into the black forehead between the golden horns - fire will engulf the land, the ice will boil. And when Tiermes plunges the knife into the heart of Myandash, all the stars will fall, the moon will go out, the sun will sink, and the earth will turn to dust.

According to the legend, the wild reindeer and people lived together, but then people became insidious, cruel, evil, greedy, began to violate the commandments and laws of nature, and the wild reindeer left the people for the tundra.
