Description

This wonderful abandoned pottery factory in France had a charming old-time atmosphere. The factory made pottery molds, which were stacked on tall wooden shelves. A rustic wooden cart on rails was used to move the heavy molds around, which was certainly my favourite feature in this lost place.

As the market for pottery grew in the town, new competitors emerged. This little old-fashioned pottery company were unable to compete with the giants rising up around them. Eventually, the factory closed.

This photograph was taken in 2107. The factory was emptied recently, presumably in preparation for demolition of the buildings. This wonderful scene of a pottery frozen in time is now only a memory.

This is my Foundation genesis collection, where I highlight the main reason for my photography. To preserve the memories of these abandoned places, before they are lost forever.
