These beaded masks are only adorned during important ceremonies of royalties or dignitaries in the tradition of the African tribe, each mask has different symbols which signifies important initiations during these social or cultural events. The wearer of the mask placate the spirit through their dance to perform principally as entertainers and act as a medium between the gods and humans and are identified by the roles they play, those who embody deities or nature spirits and to whom sacrifice is made to assure the fertility of land.
