ł₦₮ɆⱤVɆ₦₮łØ₦₴ is my new series of works that approach memory trying to actualise it and reconfigure it. Here I use multiple types of media - photography, personal photos, digital collage, glitch, pixel sorting and, above all and for the first time, digital painting. This intuitive experimental approach departs from the photos to build layer after layer of colourful pixels that dialogue with them. The process takes time, I need time to digest and find new paths, new relations, new narratives. Sometimes past layers become almost invisible, but if we dive into the image, we can see the complexity and multiplicity of textures, and maybe discover hints of what has been before. The word “intervention” suggests an act, an act over a certain condition or a process. With this series, the intervention is multiple (hence the plural): I start by intervening on photos (pieces of the past), but I continue intervening over and over again, on a process of reviewing, of changing directions, of re-drawing, reshaping the multi-layered image. It’s a new way of creation for me, and it relates perhaps to that moment in life in which we need to review and reshape ourselves.
