Description

This is a visual meditation on the fragile tether between reality and imagination. I created this piece as an exploration of the in-between—where a quiet moment drifts into the surreal, and gravity gives way to longing.

The girl, suspended midair and gently held by a massive koi, is not simply riding a fish—she is being carried by her own subconscious. The koi, often a symbol of perseverance and transformation, becomes here a dream guide, pulling her through a circular portal into another world. The background borrows from traditional East Asian landscapes, grounding the dream in ancestral memory, yet the overall mood resists logic—this is not a place of reason but of feeling.

This work is a reflection of the dreams that gently pull at us—unexpected, mysterious, and strangely comforting. It asks: What happens when we let go of control and allow ourselves to be carried by what we don’t fully understand?
