In the Mist:

Even after the planet was destroyed, the survivors kept fighting. The different clans are known by the noxious flowers they grow, and they use what little beauty is left on this earth to kill each other. The lesson has not been learned.

The Poison we put into this Earth today—is the Poison the Earth spews back tomorrow! These are the toxic flowers that will blossom from the seeds of our hate & greed.
