This is a look at La Plata peak as seen from Lake Creek near La Plata Falls. La Plata peak is the 5th highest summit in Colorado topping out at 14,361 feet above sea level.

The hike was incredibly strenuous, taking almost 6 hours in total and was 9 miles with around 4500 feet of elevation gain. This photo was captured as a reflection on a day of hard but rewarding work.

The natural beauty Colorado has to offer lends itself incredibly well to a Romantic style of digital painting. The reds of the earth combined with the blues of the water and greens of the trees is reminiscent of a place humans have yet to explore.
